NOSTALGIA: Motorists boycott Boston Market Place over new parking scheme in 1971

Motorists were boycotting a new parking scheme in Boston Market Place in 1971.

Since the new parking meters were put up, the area had been left almost bare – with some calling the scene a ‘ghost town’.

However, Boston Traffic Engineer Mr R. Purvis said he expected motorists to return to their usual convenient parking bays in a few weeks.
