Retford: Man fined after working while claiming benefit
Ian Davis, 52, of Lawnwood Avenue, admitted taking a job as a street cleaner despite claiming Disability Living Allowance.
The offence took place from July 2011 to March this year.
Defending, Andrew Bevan told the court that Davis’ work was seven or eight hours a week, to be completed whenever he felt able, and this would often take several sessions.

Whilst we believe that the above article is an accurate reflection of information given in open court, we have been asked to clarify the fact that, unlike Incapacity Benefit, the Disability Living Allowance is not an out-of-work benefit. We are happy to make this clear.
