Sue gave a brief description of her career to date, from her early days at stage school with fellow students such as Ralph Fiennes and Richard Grant, to being introduced to the writers of ’Allo, ’Allo!, David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd.

She told how she had to admit at her interview she had never heard of ’Allo, ’Allo!, as she didn’t watch television.

She was still offered a part, possibly as a result of being able to mimic many dialects and languages.

Sue went on to play a regular part in the sitcom about the French Resistance, as well as making more than 1,250 appearances in the stage show.

Sue related some amusing moments during filming, including the time she was left suspended from a crane.

She said she still meets up with the remaining members of the cast, including Vicki Michelle, who played Yvette Carte-Blanche.
