In its sixth year, the beer festival and family fun day was staged on Boston Road Recreation Ground on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon and evening

Event manager Neil Freeman thanked all the volunteers who helped with marshalling, serving behind the bar and other jobs to make it a success. He said the weather may have deterred some but they were still on target to have raised around £12,000.

Only six-and-a-half of the 40 sponsored casks of real ale went unsold. This year proceeds go to Sleaford Community Minibus, chairman Martin Osborne’s chosen charity - Autism Awareness - and SHOCK Sleaford defibrillator scheme.

Despite the damp weather, the Saturday fun day saw fun fair rides, crafts, face painting and displays by Sleaford Gymnastics Club and GO Dance Dazzlers.
