Busted back together and heading for Sheffield


The trio, who smashed records in 2004 with 12 sold-out nights at Wembley Arena on their last tour, will return to the venue as the first stop on their 2016 set of live dates.
Bass guitarist Matt Willis said: “I always thought in my heart we’d do Busted again, but it was just a matter of when and how.”

Matt and bandmates Charlie Simpson and James Bourne split 11 years ago to pursue solo careers, but are back together due to a sense of “unfinished business”.
After leaving Busted , Charlie formed alternative band Fightstar, releasing three albums before deciding to focus on solo work, leading to his top-10 album Young Pilgrim.

Matt and James also concentrated on solo music, before they reunited to play with Mcfly as the supergroup McBusted two years ago.
Lead guitarist James said: “We’ve done this scenic route back to being Busted. And now we’re here, we’re all super-re-energised.”

Drummer Charlie said: “A year ago James and I just started hanging out. And the idea crept into my head after all that time apart: what would Busted look like today?”
And fans have been quick to share their joy at the news.
Posting on Twitter, @curly_kate said: “So excited Busted are back together. Happy memories of trying to learn the lyrics to Year 3000.”
And @Holliehappyfeet posted: “I will be at Busted 2nd time in Sheffield and I will be there again with my Busted scarf from their very first tour.”
