World and British fishing championship angler Andrew Thompson has taken over the former Caistor Fisheries, in Brigg Road, renaming it Caistor Lakes and Leisure Park.

The seven-acre site has a new rustic restaurant overlooking the Wolds, a coffee shop and cafe, shop, 46 pitches and three fishing pools.

And new owner Andrew has made a commitment to helping terminally ill and disadvantaged children who would like to have the opportunity to fish, by giving them one-to-one coaching and training.

He has also made the site, and its fishing facilities, accessible for wheelchairs and disabled people.

Andrew said: “There is a brand new 100-seater steakhouse and rustic restaurant ready to accommodate anyone who loves excellent food.

“Offering an extensive and diverse menu of high-quality, traditional and international classic favourites, the restaurant is overlooking the lakes, gardens and Lincolnshire Wolds.

He added: “On site we have ensured we can accommodate the travelling angler or family wanting to see the Lincolnshire Wolds and the beautiful town of Caistor.

“With over 46 pitches we can accommodate 30 touring caravans or 16 motorhomes.”

Andrew said the pitches occupy the centre area of the site, which he says enables easy access to the fishing pools, restaurant/café and bar, toilets and shower facilities.

And he said one of the site’s fishing pools has been designed to accommodate organised match fishing and even corporate
events.

He said: “The site has been transformed with regards to the fishing.”

Andrew added that the site is fully fenced, with CCTV and fobbed gated access to provide ‘peace of mind’ for
holidaymakers.
