The Cinderella production received an attendance of over 25,500 people for the whole run resulting in it being the highest attended pantomime for nearly ten years, which is one of the best attended pantomimes ever.

Cinderella has proved to be a big hit with family audiences of all ages. The rags-to-riches fairy tale featured a first class cast which included singing legend and West End actress Maureen Nolan from the successful pop group The Nolan Sisters as the Fairy Godmother.

Accompanied by talented performances from X Factor’s Sophie Wysoczanski as the beautiful Cinderella, Carl Tracey from Nick Jr’s Go Go Go! as Prince Charming, comedy star Sean ‘Rollo’ Rollason as Buttons and Chris Auckett and Andy Brennan as the Ugly Sisters.

Cinderella had everything needed in a great pantomime, laughs, pathos, music, good guys to cheer for, bad guys to boo and, of course, a love story to coo over. As well as spectacular scenery, stunning costumes, amazing special effects, a live music band and lots of audience participation.

Councillor Taiba Yasseen, Rotherham Council’s Advisory Cabinet Member with responsibility for Neighbourhoods and Cultural Services said that the Cinderella pantomime had been a production to remember: “Families in Rotherham came to see Cinderella as part of their Christmas and New Year celebrations and have really taken this pantomime to their hearts.

“It is wonderful to hear that over 25,500 people have attended the show. In fact, it was the highest pantomime attendance since 2006-07. I would like to thank every single person for coming along to see the pantomime, and supporting their local theatre venue. It proved to be a really enjoyable experience for audiences aged from 4 to 94 years old.
