Shanti-Fest 2016 will be supporting Lincs2Nepal, a charity dedicated to improving education, health and development in some of the poorest communities in Nepal.

The event will be held at Scholey Park from July 1 to 3, with a sister festival in a number of different locations across Nepal and live streaming to and from both festivals.

“You will literally be able to see and party with people 7,300km away on the other side of the world,” said former Banovallum pupil Leo Scott-Smith, a trustee of the charity.

“This festival will be one of a kind – not only will it be a great little festival with a whole variety of music and activities but we’ll be relating lots of the festival back to the charity and the Nepalese culture.”

More than 100 acts will perform on five stages over the three-day event and there will also be a reflection station, together with plenty of activities and workshops for children to enjoy.

All profits from the event will go directly to the charity and for every drink bought at the festival, Lincs2Nepal will provide clean drinking water for one person in Nepal for a whole lifetime.

“It will change lives,” said Leo.

Day tickets and full weekend tickets are available for the festival at www.shanti- fest.co.uk and for updates find them on Facebook.
