Countdown to Lincs Show

JUST five weeks remain until the county’s biggest showcase the Lincolnshire Show on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st June 2012.

The two day event, at the Lincolnshire Showground, will have plenty for everyone to see, do, take part in and eat.

Agriculture remains at the heart of the Lincolnshire Show with livestock and equine competitions, machinery displays and the opportunity to find out where your food comes from at taste a lot of it too.

There will also be cooking demonstrations, vintage vehicle displays, floral decoration and flower shows, a sporting showcase befitting the year 2012, Scruffts dog competition, main ring entertainment from the Knights of the Damned, craft tents and demonstrations, plenty of retail therapy, live music and much, much more.

Ticket prices have been held at 2011 prices which are adults £20 (£18 in advance), young person aged 17 - 22 £15 (advance only), children aged 5 - 16 £6 (£5.50 in advance) and families of two adults and three children £45 (£40 in advance).

The Lincolnshire Showground is at Grange de Lings, Lincoln, LN2 2NA.

The 200 acre showground is owned by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society.

Formed in 1869 its objectives are ‘the furtherance, welfare and progress of the Agricultural Industry and all professions, trades and crafts connected therewith’.

Today, those objectives are more important than ever. Recently it has focused more on sustainability and protection of the natural environment.
