Sleaford and District Lioness Club held An Evening with Elvis tribute act night at Folkingham Village Hall in March and raised £1,300 for Cancer Research UK and other local charities.

President of the Lionesses, Tracy Arnold, has just visited Sleaford’s Cancer Research UK shop to present a cheque for £1,000 to the new manager, Anne Brown, who has recently taken over from Marjorie Johnson after many years, who will be continuing as a volunteer.

The Lionesses were given a tour of the shop to explain the work of the volunteers.

Mrs Arnold said: “We had up to 80 people at the Elvis night, which was really good.”

Mrs Brown thanked the group on behalf of her charity and said: “I am extremely grateful, it is an amazing donation.”
