Exciting new exhibition at Carre Gallery in Sleaford
Local artist, Patricia Mellett Brown is holding her second solo exhibition at Carre Gallery in Sleaford from 3rd – 23rd November.
Patricia is relatively new to Lincolnshire having moved to Heckington in 2016. “Moving to Lincolnshire and conquering Agoraphobia through sobriety,” Patricia says “has, at last, provided me with the opportunity to travel around the area, anxiety free and I am so enjoying extending my range of ‘Out and About in Lincolnshire’ paintings beyond Heckington”.
The exhibition doesn’t just feature local scenes, there’s also ‘Louis, the dog with courage’, Patricia’s latest character creation. “Louis is no ordinary dog,” she explains, “Louis finds joy and happiness in the little things in his everyday life.” Based loosely on her own experiences, Patricia’s imaginative and thought-provoking illustrations are created in watercolour, pencil and ink while her florals and portraiture are in oils. There really is something for everyone at this new exhibition. You can see Patricia’s work at 29 Carre Gallery in Carre Street, Sleaford from 3rd – 23rd November. The Gallery is open 10-4pm, Monday to Saturday and there’s a ‘meet the artist’ event on Thursday 13th November from 6-8pm, so why not pop along.’
