Free screenings at five Lincolnshire cinemas
Five Lincolnshire cinemas are taking part in a series of free screenings this coming week.
On May 26-27, over 100 independent UK cinemas are offering free tickets to see new musical comedy drama Power Ballad, starring Paul Rudd (Clueless, Anchorman, Antman) and and Nick Jonas (Camp Rock, Jumanji).
Lincolnshire cinemas taking part include The Loewen Cinema (Mablethorpe), The Kinema in the Woods (Woodhall Spa), and the Savoy Cinemas in Grantham, Gainsborough, and Boston.
John Carney directs this musical comedy drama which follows Rick Power (Paul Rudd), a wedding singer who meets washed up former boy band singer Danny Wilson (Nick Jonas). Danny meets Rick at a wedding one night and bonds with him over a jam session. Danny steals one of Rick’s songs and it becomes a number one hit that brings Danny back into popularity, leading to Rick seeking out revenge and recognition.
The free screenings are part of Escapes, a nationwide cinema initiative supported by the British Film Institute awarding National Lottery Funding. Escapes is designed to make cinema more accessible by hosting over 100 free cinema screenings every month. These screenings will be some of the first previews for UK audiences before the film's UK-wide cinema release on May 29
