Little Trip melts hearts in Britain's Got Talent

first shot to fame winning the Boxing Day 2012 ITV special That Dog Can Dance with her border collie Indie, winning the Crufts Factor two years later and achieving a top three finish last year.

Now, she has got through the first round of the hit ITV talent show.

This time she had the audience and presenters Ant and Dec cooing over her little dancing dog ‘Trip Hazard’, or Trip for short, admitting to judge Amanda Holden that he was so called because she keeps tripping over him.

Lucy explains: “Trip is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Maltese and I’ve had him for about a year and a half and have been training him since I got him.”

Lucy did Britain’s Got talent last year with Indie, but said she is quite sensitive whereas Trip is a 
bit of a crowd pleaser.

She said: “Trip is a dog with a difference and we just want to go out onto that stage and show the nation that little dogs aren’t just for handbags, they can be great 
performers as well.”

After recent controvercy on the show involving a dog act - when the audience didn’t realise a dog had effectively been ‘swaped’ - Simon Cowell asked: “Just to be clear, there’s only one of them, yes?” Before saying he felt optimistic.

The pair did an up-tempo routine to Candyman by Christina Aguilera to the delight of presenter Dec, saying: “Too cute.”

The overnight success of Trip led the pair to appear on This Morning on Monday.

This season’s winner will secure £250,000 and the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance 2016.

Lucy ran her own successful dog training and display team business in the Lincolnshire area before joining The Company of Animals Training and Behaviour Centre in Surrey to run a variety of classes.

Trip and Indie live with her three other dogs, Trent, Ash and Foxy.
