VIDEO; Sleaford parish church launches Youtube channel to lead short acts of worship online due to coronavirus restrictions

With the Church of England advising the cancellation of church services from this week for reduce the spread of coronavirus and protect its ageing congregations, the vicar of Sleaford, Rev Philip Johnson has launched a series of short videos of regular acts of worship on a new, dedicated Youtube channel.

The first was record yesterday (Thursday) and Rev Johnson said he hoped it would be useful for his regular churchgoers and those of other churches in the wider area and the country under the current restrictions of movement and social distancing.

He explained: “Following advice from the Bishops of Canterbury and York, St Denys’ and other Anglican churches in the area have been closed for public worship.

“The door of St Denys’ will be open as usual so people can go in and find a place to say a prayer or light a candle if they wish.”
