The WREN FCC Building Communities Fund provided 90 per cent of the money with West Lindsey Council meeting the 10 per cent match funding.

“The work has been expertly undertaken by the Gelder Group enhancing the Grade II-listed building but bringing the facilities into the 21st Century,” said a GTC spokesman.

“The Old Nick Trustees are most grateful to WREN and WLDC for their financial input, to Gelders and to the Conservation Officer at West Lindsey for his guidance.”

The grand re-opening event will take place on Sunday, November 15 from 12noon to 8pm and will feature music, theatrical entertainment, historical tours and refreshments.

All are welcome and entry is free.

Prior to that, GTC are presenting a An Evening of Short Plays, a week of humorous plays at the venue as a prelude.

Tickes are £8 and £7 on 01427 239387.
