Hop to Gunby for some cracking Easter fun

Hop over to the Gunby gardens on Sunday March 27 and Monday March 28 to join in the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt – pick up a trail, solve the clues, find the right answers and collect a yummy Cadbury chocolate bunny as your reward.

Three floors of the house will be open too and the eight-acre gardens are full of bright spring flowers.

The tea-room serves drinks and treats and the latest National Trust giftware is on offer in the new retail corner.

“We can’t wait to share Gunby with visitors again,” said Visitor Experience Manager Astrid Gatenby.

“During the winter break we have managed to deep-clean our collection and do essential maintenance in the grounds and gardens, ready for a busy year ahead.

“Pop into the house to see what’s new as some of the rooms of the house have been rearranged and the fascinating exhibition about the Battle of Loos is open on the first floor.

“Our recently appointed ranger put new way-markers in the grounds to direct visitors on their walks to the Ice House Pond and Bratoft Manor, so bring your walking boots and venture out a bit further in the 1500-acre estate on your next visit.

“We look forward to welcoming many new and returning visitors to Gunby in 2016 and have an exciting program of events happening throughout the year ahead.”

The Gunby gardens and tea-room will be open daily (11am – 5pm) from March 24

The house will be open Saturday to Wednesday (closed Thursdays and Fridays) from March 26

The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts are on Sunday March 27 and Monday March 28 from 11am to 4pm – trails cost £1.50 per person, on top of the normal admission price.
