Now in its eighth year, the festival will see a host of explosive and innovative acts tour seven locations across East Lindsey.

Traditionally, Horncastle has hosted a string of events on a Saturday - attracting huge crowds to the town.

The 2015 Festival featured record audiences and organisers say this year’s event will be even bigger and better.

Lorna Fulton, festival director, said: “We can’t wait to return to East Lindsey. We had our biggest audience ever last year and we hope even more people will enjoy the spectacle this year.

“SO Festival is a brilliant event for the whole family. It’s free, accessible and all the acts are innovative, interesting and entertaining – there really is something for everyone.

“There’s also a fantastic family feel about the festival. There are lots of opportunities for local people to get involved, including festival ambassadors, and an exciting planting project we will be launching very soon.”

This year, organisers say the festival will take its inspiration from the beautiful rural, agricultural and coastal landscapes of East Lindsey and will focus on ‘the elements’ – earth, air, fire and water - with performances that will wow the crowds.

There will be several new acts performing alongside festival favourites, including the Travelling Light Circus and The Bullzini Family.

Apart from Horncastle and Woodhall Spa, the festival will be visiting Mablethorpe, Alford, Louth and Spilsby for one day each, finishing in Skegness for a finale weekend.

Some events will be staged in a new performance ring, described as an ‘upside-down and inside-out house’.

Ms Fulton added: “We’ve got music, comedy, dance and circus performances so expect entertainment and unexpected happenings.”

One of the dazzling acts is ‘Equilibrius’ by The Bullzini Family. Taking the skills and thrills of the art of high-wire walking, the family will invite audiences into a magical world of balance where a playful picture is painted in the skies.
