A full evening of racing this Saturday will be rounded off with a concert by the Brit Award nominee and multi-chart topping artist.

Last year, a record crowd - the biggest since Easter Monday 1946 - flooded the racecourse when Welsh singing legend Tom Jones put on a show-stopping performance and tickets for this year’s live music event are proving popular too.

The County Enclosure sold out in just four weeks, with the Tattersalls Enclosure selling out three weeks later.

“We have been absolutely thrilled by the uptake in tickets for Jess Glynne,” said Nadia Gollings, General Manager at Market Rasen Racecourse.

“The event is looking to be a sell out with over 13,000 tickets booked so far.”

There is still time for people to get tickets as there is some availability for the Lawn Enclosure this Saturday.

“We urge anyone that is interested in attending this fabulous event to book in advance,” added Nadia.

“Whilst we expect a limited amount of tickets to be available on the day for the Lawn Enclosure, this will be based on how many pre sales we have this week.

“There will be six exciting races before the concert starts, so if you have tickets please do come from 3pm to enjoy an evening of racing followed by entertainment.

“We’re very much looking forward to seeing everyone.”

Jess Glynne has become one of the biggest UK breakthrough acts of recent years, after first attracting the public’s attention as the vocalist on Clean Bandit’s Grammy Award winning and number one hit ‘Rather Be’.

Her number one charting debut album, ‘I Cry When I Laugh’, turned double platinum in the UK, making it the highest selling debut album of the past year.

She also became the second British female solo artist after Cheryl to have five number-one singles in the UK.

And 2016 is proving to be another massive year for Jess.

She performed at the prestigious Brit Awards and was nominated for British Breakthrough Act, British Female Solo Artist and British Single for ‘Hold My Hand’.

Earlier this year, she won the Best Newcomer category at the Silver Clef Awards

Of her visit to Market Rasen, Jess said: “It’s going to be great fun playing Market Rasen Racecourse on August 13 after the races.

“I love outdoor shows and can’t wait to share some summer evenings with my fans.”

Ahead of Jess Glynne’s show, earlier in the day there will be a six race card - giving fans the chance to witness powerful equine athletes who are stars in their own right.

Gates open for Listers Smart Rasen Rocks at 3pm, with the first race is at 5.40pm and the last race at 8.15pm.

The concert is set to start at approximately 8.45pm.

Jess will be donating a portion of her fee to equine charity Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) and The Jockey Club Live will match that donation.

“When I was first approached about playing these dates at racecourses it made me think about what happens to the horses that get injured or just too old to race anymore, so I did some research and found out about the charity and the work it does,” said Jess.

“So when I agreed to the dates I said I’d do them if I could donate some of my fee to the charity. The Jockey Club kindly agreed to match my donation too, which is great.”
