Kirkby garden opens for charity
The garden of Courtlands, on the southern edge of Kirkby on Bain, opens this weekend for the National Gardens Scheme.
Home of Peter and Jill Hilton, this lovely, peaceful, well-established 3½ acre garden will be open from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, June 26.
Features include 60 mature Scots Pines, an open lawn, herbaceous borders, island beds, a folly area and a water feature.

Hide AdThere is also a newly developed Japanese garden and a large vegetable garden with raised beds.
Admission is £3, with children free.
Home-made teas and plants will be on sale.
Dogs are welcome, but must be on short leads.
The garden is flat and has full wheelchair access, however there is no accessible WC
