Lincs: Comedy Festival boasts a stellar line-up with Milton Jones, Patrick Kielty, Josh Widdicombe, Nina Conti and Storage Hunters star Sean Kelly all on the bill

Once again, the event has attracted a whole host of big-name acts from the UK comedy circuit and further afield to perform across four venues in the city.

With a range of comedy styles and shows in the programme it aims to offer something for all of Lincolnshire’s comedy fan’s to have a giggle at in what promises to be a vintage year for the festival.

“We’ve worked hard to put together a top class programme for the festival again and I think we’ve managed it,” said Shaun Almey, festival director.

“We’ve got some really big names in the world of comedy heading our way and we’ve also managed to book some of those acts that are just bubbling under that we think are great and are going to be the big names of the future.

“It’s also nice to add in shows by the likes of Sean Kelly from Storage Hunters.

“For fans of that show, they are in for a treat.”

The festival has something of a bonus taster of things to come on Thursday, September 17 when Hal Cruttenden presents his new show, Straight Outta Cruttenden at Lincoln Drill Hall.

Things get underway in earnest on Thursday, October 1 when Festival of the Spoken Nerd perform at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre (LPAC).

On Friday, October 2. Josh Widdicombe is at the Engine Shed, while Irish star Jason Byrne performs at the Drill Hall.

Also on Friday, Adam Long, the man behind The Reduced Shakespeare Company, brings his new creation, Dickens Abridged, at LPAC, while The Hilton in Lincoln presents a special comedy night.

On Saturday, October 3, Chris Ramsey plays the LPAC and fellow rising comedy star James Acaster is at the Drill Hall, along with a special festival edition of the Red Herring Comedy Club.

The Drill Hall is the venue again for events on Sunday, October 4 as Storage Hunters star Sean Kelly and Rob Beckett on the bill.

After a short break, things resume on Tuesday, October 6 with Ray Peacock at the Engine Shed and Racing Minds at LPAC.

Milton Jones is also at the Engine Shed on Thursday, October 8, followed by Joe Lycett at the same venue on Friday, October 9.

The festival concludes with Patrick Kielty at the Drill Hall on Sunday, October 11 and Nina Conti at the Engine Shed on Thursday, October 15.
