An award-winning an record -breaking tenor, Russell Watson has been able to reach a wider audience range than many in his genre with even non-classical fans becoming enthralled by his work.

And he will prove why his popularity extends far beyond the normal classical boundaries in An Evening With Russell Watson at The Baths Hall on Saturday night (18th April).

Russell Watson never imagined he would one day be one of the world’s most prominent tenors, selling in excess of seven million albums worldwide.

To date there have been nine studio albums, each one winning more critical acclaim than the one before.

His first offering, The Voice, held simultaneous number one slots in the USA and the UK.

It spent a record breaking 52 weeks at number one in the UK.

Russell is officially the UK’s best selling classical artist ever and has won four Classical BRIT Awards.

He has performed for some of the world’s greatest figures including, HM The Queen, the late Pope John Paul II, who requested a private audience with Russell at The Vatican, former US President Bill Clinton, The Emperor of Japan, European Prime Ministers, Middle Eastern Sultans and the King of Malaysia, as well as many others.

Russell’s collaborations include superstars of both the classical and mainstream music world, including Pavarotti, Lionel Richie, Michael Bolton, Cliff Richard, Lulu, Sarah Brightman, Meatloaf, Mel B, Alexandra Burke, Ashanti and Cleopatra to name but a few.

Russell is a patron for many charities and has raised millions of pounds for The Prince’s Trust, The Katy Holmes Trust and The Kirsty Club.

He has also performed to raise awareness and funds for the likes of Soccer Aid in 2010, Remembrance for the 4th Mechanized Brigade at York Minster, also in 2010, the “Legends Match” at Celtic Park for Oxfam in 2011 and the Bob Champion Cancer Trust in 2012.

The latter is especially pertinent for Russell, who has overcome two life-threatening brain tumours of his own to return to the top of the performing tree.

Today, Russell is still very much the godfather of classical crossover.

His Baths Hall appearance is a unique opportunity to hear ‘the voice’ as you have never heard it before.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and a limited number of tickets priced £40 are still available from on 0844 854 2776 or online at www.tickets.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk
