A sum of £2,000 has been given to the British Heart Foundation as a result of the group’s charity golf day.

In addition, the figure of £450 has been handed to the substance abuse cause the Walter Hrubesh Foundation, the proceeds from a fashion show.

The sums were presented to the organisations at the Solo Club, in Sleaford, on Monday.

The group has also recently welcomed a new president.

Lioness Jackie Creedon succeeds Tracy Arnold, following her year in the role – a year a spokesman for the group described as very successful.

The spokesman added: “The Lionesses have held a number of events throughout the year, raising money for many good causes, especially helping local people and groups in need.”

Three new members have joined the group this year and the Lionesses say they would welcome others who would like to help their community.
