Lions donate to youth groups

Sleaford and District Lions Club have boosted the funds of two local youth organisations.

Lions President Bob Coxhead has presented £200 to Sleaford Air Cadets and £175 to the 3rd Sleaford Scout Group.

The Sleaford Lions offer the groups one evening every Christmas to get out with Santa’s sleigh to collect donations around local homes and help raise their profile at the same time, as a thank you the clubs get a share of the donations.

Scout Lucy Freeman, 14, added: “We really enjoyed doing it and we are proud to have helped to raise funds for those in need as well as our own Scout Group.”

John Kyte, Sleaford Lions Treasurer, said it was good to work together, adding: “It took a bit of time for some of them to summon up the courage to knock on the first few doors, but they really got into the swing of it and were superb.”
