Mini madness in Gainsborough

Mini and classic car owners from around the country will be displaying their vehicles at a special event in Gainsborough this Father's Day.

West Lindsey District Council will welcome Trent Valley Mini Owners Club back to the Market Place for a third year running.

Following the success of last years’ event, they have organised the Gainsborough Mini and Classic Car Day for Sunday June 19 and this year will a range of other classic cars and vehicles joining the Minis.

All mini, classic, BMW and mini based, and Classic car owners are welcome to go and enjoy the day by displaying their vehicles together in the newly renovated Market Place.

The club has plenty of experience having organised the Normanby Hall Mini Day for nearly a decade and the Lincoln BIG Mini Day on behalf of Lincoln Business Improvement Group.

“The Mini and Classic Car Day will be a fantastic opportunity for car fanatics young and old to come and have a closer look at some of these great cars,” said Ady Selby, Operational Services team leader at West Lindsey District Council.

“And I’m sure their owners will have plenty of tales to tell.

“It promises to be a great Father’s Day event.”

There will also be a raffle to raise money for the Trent Valley Mini Owners Club’s two charities, LIVES and Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, who will both be there on the day.

Mike James, Trent Valley Mini Owners Club leader added: “We hope the Gainsborough Mini and Classic Car Day will become an annual event, so if you have a mini, either classic or new, that you would like to enter, please come along and enjoy the fun.”

Entrants must be at the Market Place by 10am and will be parked in position on arrival,

There is no need to book.

The day will end at around 4pm.
