Notts: Country parks get in the festive mood

It was another weekend to remember at Notts’ country parks as people really got into the festive mood.

Around 3,000 people visited Rufford Abbey country park to visit the Christmas grotto for the first time this season, and enjoy the relaxing surroundings of the park.

And several hundred people took part in the tree dressing event at Sherwood Forest on Sunday.

Paul Cook, assistant site manager at Sherwood Forest, said: “We used ribbons and a range of decorations to decorate the tree and had wonderful entertainment from the Dukeries College Band.”
