The parade assembled in Wrawby Street, where Brownies and Rainbows, carrying hand-held posies, paraded, together with Brigg Methodist Minister the Rev Ian Wales and Malcolm Bailey, chairman of the Brigg Town Business Partnership, to the pumps outside the Nelthorpe Arms and at Wetherspoons.

They were joined at the bandstand by Tatterfoals Dancers.

“Well done to everyone, especially those who have organised this wonderful community event,” Mr Wales told the large crowd.

“The event gives grateful thanks to all those who provide our water for us, but also we needed to be mindful of those who have little or no provision for water elsewhere in the world.”

Brigg Rotary Club provided marshalls and Brigg and District Flower Society dressed the two pumps, supported by Mollies Flowers and Tesco, who provided flowers.

Tatterfoals were joined by the visiting Beverley Garland for dancing displays throughout the morning in the market place.
