The monthly meeting was saved when Market Rasen Mail reporter Dianne Tuckett stepped in at short notice after the scheduled speaker cancelled due to ill health.
Members were treated to an entertaining and informative insight into the conception and history of the newspaper, detailing how the printing, layout and format has changed over the years.
A lively question and answer session followed and there was the opportunity to study some early editions.
