And will be calling at Retford Rugby Club again on 4th July for Retford Fake Festival.

Headlining the day-long event will be leading tribute acts to Muse, Bon Jovi and Kasabian.

But the Fake Festival stage will also yet again play host to five local support bands who have been lucky enough to earn their spot at this year’s event.

With hundreds of applicants, the five bands have been carefully selected by the Fake Festival team whose sole purpose is to bring a day of fantastic live music and fun to the famous Fake Festival marquee.

The five chosen supports for this year are Pandemic, 5th Pier, Digging For Elvis, Forever Mod and Gaucho.

Pandemic will be opening this year’s event.

They are a young indie rock band who will be performing a mix of their own music alongside covers from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian and Foo Fighters.

5th Pier are an innovative and original band who strive to create a unique, individual sound that appeals to both mainstream and alternative audiences alike.

Combining intricate melodies and soulful lyrics, these guys know how to get the attention of a crowd.

Retford area band, Digging for Elvis, are a melodic and energetic rock band.

Old enough to be experienced and proficient, but young enough to sill be considered as young, they have a big local presence. Mixing vintage and contemporary covers, they will be bringing the party to the marquee.

Doing exactly as their name states, Forever Mod will be entertaining the crowds with their mix of classic mod and mod revival covers from the likes of The Jam, Paul Weller, The Who and The Small Faces.

Warming the crowd up for the main tributes will be Retford’s very own Gaucho.

These rockers are certainly no strangers to Fake Festivals, and they will be bringing their combination of Californian surf with a blast of home-grown British rock.

“We are really lucky to have such talented musical artists in the region, and we were not short of applicants this year,” said Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals.

“It has been very difficult to choose just five artists to perform,.”

“But we hope we have chosen something for everyone, and we very excited to have them perform on our main stage.

The festival runs from 12.30pm to 11.45pm on the day.

Tickets are priced £20 and for adults, £10 for young adults while a family ticket is £50.
