Return of the Fake Festival

Early bird tickets are on sale for this year’s Retford Fake Festival.

Now in its seventh year, the festival will come to East Retford Rugby Club on Saturday 6th July bringing with it acclaimed tribute bands such as Coldplace, Four Fighters and Kazabian.

This year’s festival will be held in tribute to Retford soldier, Joshua Brown, who died in Surrey after being hit by a police car last year.

“Fake Festivals has a strong connection with the family of Joshua, and we were obviously devastated when we heard the news,” says Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals. “Joshua was the nephew of our stage manager, and she was working with the Coldplace band that are headlining this year’s Retford Fake Festival when she found out the dreadful news, so we felt it fitting that this year’s festival should be held in his honour. Coldplay and Foo Fighters were two of Joshua’s favourite bands, and they will be performing a special tribute to him themselves on the day.”

Early bird tickets are now on sale, available until 6th June, and can be bought either online at www.fakefestivals.co.uk or at Hallcroft News, Hallcroft Road; Trudy’s Kitchen, West Carr Road; Emporium Fashion on Spa Lane; Retford Leisure Centre and the Londis Stories on Wesley Road, Ollerton Road and London Road.
