Ruby celebrations for Lincolnshire Lacemakers Guild

Members of the Lincolnshire Lacemakers Guild have celebrated their Ruby anniversray EMN-170227-133616001

There was a special competition, for which all members were asked to make a piece of red lace.

Prizes went to Trish Miles, whose piece of lace was in the form of a butterfly and a leaf, and Janet Sutton, who had made a wonderful bell-pull.

Everyone agreed they had a lovely day making lace and catching up with friends. The Lincolnshire Lacemakers’ aim is to keep the craft of lacemaking alive in Lincolnshire.

Although their members primarily make lace using bobbins and pillows, they welcome all lacemakers from all parts of Lincolnshire, beginners and ‘old hands’ alike, whether they make bobbin lace, crocheted lace, tatted lace etc.

The Guild meets three days a year to make lace at the Methodist Church Hall in Queen Street, Horncastle.
