Sculptures and art set amidst green gardens

IF YOU go out to Harpswell, near Gainsborough, you’re in for a big surprise.

For sculptures and artwork of all shapes and sizes adorn three acres of green surroundings at Hall Farm.

It’s all part of Sculpture And Plants 2012 (SAP12) - the annual garden sculpture exhibition held by Mark and Pam Tatam.

More than 200 sculptures from over 40 artists are on show from Saturday 16th - Sunday 24th June.

“We’ve run this event for eight years now, and each year it becomes more popular,” said Mark.

“Many people come for a whole afternoon, or even the whole day. There is always a great atmosphere during the show, with a real buzz of excitement to it.”

But this is much more than just a sculpture exhibition.

Two large marquees will showcase the work of top local craftsmen, and there will be demonstrations by sculptors during the weekends.

Live music also adds to the relaxing atmosphere at the weekends, with sessions from the Lydian choir, a string quartet and a jazz guitar duo.

Kids can let off steam on their own sculpture trail.

And after all that, it’ll be time for a cuppa. You will find lunches and light refreshments on offer, served by - and in aid of - local charities.

SAP12 is open every day between Saturday 16th - Sunday 24th June from 10.30am until 5pm.
