Shuttle along to Epworth

As the nation finds itself gripped by Olympic fever, the organisers of the Epworth and District Agricultural Show are finalising some fun and games of their own, on the region’s doorstep.

And thanks to the return of the free shuttle bus service, which launched last year, visitors can enjoy the show’s infamous heated beer tent to the fullest and leave the car at home on Monday 27th August.

Taking place on the Epworth Show Field, last year’s event saw record numbers in attendance and with the UK buoyed by both the Jubilee and Olympics, 2012’s celebration of country heritage, traditions and values could be the best yet.

Once again, the show will be flying the flag for the best festivities the region has to offer thanks to world famous Titan the Robot, as well as a number of other attractions including, show-jumping, dog shows, livestock classes and trade stands.

In addition, there will be live music, vintage cars, a horticultural tent and various competitions throughout the day, as well as the beer tent boasting a range of real ales and ciders and live entertainment, for visitors to enjoy.

“The show has always been about honouring everything that’s good about England’s green and pleasant land,” said Dave Hayes, chairman of the Epworth and District Agricultural Society.

“Thanks to the Jubilee and the Olympics, 2012 should turn out to be a pretty incredible year. With show jumping, sheep shows and terrier racing, the Epworth Show will be sure to give the Games a run for their money with our own spin on events.”

This year’s free shuttle bus will do circular journeys from Albion Hill, Epworth, to the show ground, picking up en-route during the day from 9.30am to 4.45pm.
