She recalled and showed many interesting items from the early 40s and 50s, from toys and comics to household items and starched petticoats.

There were many memories and stories from her and the 33 members presents.

The competition for an amusing story was won by Hilary Williams, with Connie Stennett second and Jean Mair third.

Flower of the month was won by Jocelyn Simmons, with Connie Stennett second and Janice Withers third.

The next meeting is in St Peter’s Hall on July 13 at 2pm, with a talk on Search and Rescue by Robin Wilkinson.
