Stage is set for classic comedy

An adaptation of the classic Ealing comedy The Ladykillers comes to Sleaford's Playhouse Theatre for a run of shows next week.

Sleaford Little Theatre stages the production at the Westgate venue from Tuesday to Saturday, with daily performances at 7.30pm (doors 7pm).

An adaptation of the 1955 film of the same name, it is penned by Graham Linehan, of Father Ted, Black Books, and the IT Crowd fame.

It sees a gang of criminal misfits pose as amateur musicians while they rent rooms in the house of a sweet little old lady called Mrs Wilberforce.

The villains plot to involve their landlady in their heist job, but while police are left baffled, she becomes wise to their ruse and the gang conclude that there is only way to keep her quiet.

With only her parrot to help her, Mrs W. is alone with five desperate men. But who will face the music?

Audiences are told to expect a ‘little bit of adult language here and there’.
