Still time to contribute to food artwork in Sleaford

A piece of community artwork has been growing thanks to contributions from visitors to a Sleaford gallery.

The piece is being created at the National Centre for Craft and Design in response to the artwork, Invisible Homeless, by artist Luke Jerram featured in the Cause and Effect exhibition. His work highlights the growing numbers of unseen homeless people.

The artwork is being made up of donated food which will be given to Sleaford’s Community Larder when the project finishes on September 4. There is still time to contribute more.

The Activity Zone provides a further opportunity to think about themes within the exhibition through craft and making and the issues dealt with via a specially designed ‘tent’ structure, providing a blank canvas on which visitors are invited to add their thoughts and designs about the idea of home and contribute to the piece to welcome or shelter people.
