Young mum Lindsay of Conisbrough sped around the Netto store at Thorne Road Retail Park, Doncaster, as the winner of the recent DFP with Netto Trolley Dash competition.

The 26-year old full-time mum did the deed in place of her mum Gail Harris who was unable to be there, and said she was completely surprised by her own skill as she loaded up.

Lindsay admitted to feeling nervous with cameras on her as she prepared to run. She said: “I didn’t get as far around the shop as I thought I would. The time goes so quickly. But I wanted to get basic goods such as fresh meat and vegetables, nappies and toilet rolls....things like that. I had a bit of a plan but in the event I just went for it and did my best.

“To get over £430 worth of shopping is great. It’s the biggest shop I’ve ever done in one go!”
Lindsay had not visited the Thorne Road Netto previously but was very impressed with the store and said she would definitely return.

Neither she or her mum have won a trolley dash before, said Lindsay: “Although mum enters quite a few competitions she never expected to win. It was a joint effort and we’ll share the prize between us.”

Store manager Frank Andersen was there and said: “It’s the first time I’ve been at a trolley dash but it was fun and our winner did well to fill her trolley in the time allocated. I thought she might go for the wine rack but that wasn’t the case at all.

“She was happy and was impressed with the store.”

Readers were asked to collect two tokens from the Doncaster Free Press to gain entry to the competition.
