WIN! Family ticket to Cinderella pantomime

FIVE celebrities will be on the Retford stage next year in the Majestic Theatre’s festive production of Cinderella.

The Guardian has teamed up with promoters to offer one lucky reader a family ticket to the pantomime which comes to Retford on 4th January to 8th January.

Sue Hodge, nest known as Mimi in the popular television series Allo, Allo will be performing alongside Big Brother’s ‘Nasty’ Nick Bateman. Also in the cast are Bobby Dazzler from Channel 4’s Shameless and Nick Wymerfrom CITV’s My Phone Genie.

Playing the lead role of Cinderella is Helen Bates from Bid TV, who is delighted to be coming to Retford.

She said: “This is a dream come true for me. To play Cinderella, the most loved Princess of all the Disney films, is incredibly exciting. I have performed in pantos before but I haven’t played Cinderella, so I can’t wait to get started.”

“When I was offered the role of Cinderella, I was so overjoyed that I was mentioning it on air every night. I’m very happy at BID TV and will be presenting there right up to rehearsals starting for panto.”

“To then be working with such an all star cast is going to be an amazing experience. I absolutely love panto, as I am still a child at heart and performing in such a beautiful theatre is going to be an amazing experience for both the cast and the audience.”

Last year’s production of Snow White broke all box office records at the theatre and producer Jamie Marcus is again hoping to capture the magic.

He said: “Like last year, this year’s production will have all the traditional elements of a great panto, with well known songs, fantastic comedy and a beautiful princess.”

“Cinderella is the most magical fairytale and brings together all the elements that audiences love in a large scale production. I am also delighted that we have so many great characters in the show. Sue Hodge is well known for her comedy roles in TV shows such as Allo Allo and having Nasty Nick Bateman from the original Big Brother, playing Minga, one of the ugly sisters, is perfect casting.”

Tickets are on sale now and start at £8.50. To buy call the box office on 01777 706866 or visit www.majesticretford.com.
