Gary Grace and his eight-piece Shiny Stockings Orchestra come to North Notts Community Arena on Saturday 15th October.

International jazz - swing vocalist Gary promises an authentic rat-pack inspired evening of golden oldies, with some more modern classics thrown in.

Expect to hear the silky tones of Frank Sinatra, Nat ‘King’ Cole, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Matt Monro amongst others. Plus up-to-date numbers by Robbie Williams and Michael Buble.

And he has kindly offered a pair of tickets to give away as competition prizes.

“I am really excited to be playing in Worksop with the Shiny Stockings Orchestra,” said Gary, who started singing from a very young age.

“It is this type of show I love the most. The people who pay to see you are always going to be your best audience.”

And what a show Gary has in store: “We will take you back to the classy kind of night you would have had in Las Vegas when the rat pack were at their height.”

“Imagine candle lit tables and people dressed to impress.”

Gary began singing as a child, and his vocal talent blossomed under the expert guidance of singing teacher Gladys Riseley.

“I ended up singing solo at the Royal Albert Hall as part of a national school choir convention, but I wanted to watch the FA cup final that day,” laughed Gary.

“I didn’t realise how lucky I was until I was older.”

Since then he has appeared as lead vocalist with many bands before turning professional solo performer in the 1990s.

Gary’s unique voice has toured the country at concerts, weddings and parties, and it has even taken him abroad, with various cruise ship residencies.

Supporting Gary on October 15th will be special guest Sara Blair-Manning whose jazz - swing style emulates Ella Fitzgerald and complements Gary’s act perfectly.
