Win! Tickets to see British Folk Award winners The Full English live at the Engine Shed in Lincoln

And we have two pairs of tickets to give away for the show.

They are made up of Fay Hield, with traditional singer and fiddle player, Nancy Kerr, award-winning singer/songwriter, Seth Lakeman, internationally renowned guitarist, Martin Simpson, double bassist Ben Nicolls and two of the most in-demand multi-instrumentalists on the folk scene, Rob Harbron and Sam Sweeney.

Last summer, The Full English appeared at Hop Farm Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival and Shrewsbury Festival and also undertook a short UK tour.

Last year also saw folk singer and scholar, Hield invited to assemble this group of stellar musicians in order to record The Full English album, with material based on a new digital archive of folk music and related materials.

The album was released by Topic Records and was followed by a sell-out UK tour.

In February 2014, the band completed their group and album double at the Folk Awards.

Hield also gained a nomination for Folk Singer of the Year.

Last week, they released a new single from their acclaimed album.

The release was two traditional songs, Arthur O’Bradley and Man in the Moon

They performed Arthur O’Bradley live at the Royal Albert Hall at the awards ceremony.

It’s a lively ballad collected by Harry Albiono which Hield describes as being ‘just on the right side of tastless’.

The words of the song have their origins in the 1600s.

Man in the Moon is another colourful song and typical of the early Music Hall era, though again, probably with much earlier origins.

Such is the draw and appeal of The Full English, whether they are playing traditional or more contemporary material, they remain a huge draw wherever they go.

And they are going to the Engine Shed in Lincoln on 4th May.
