The Worksop Guardian has a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader.

He is set to entertain around half a million fans during his tour called Off On Tour We Go Show.

Audiences are guaranteed to be kept laughing all evening with hilarious tales of shower mishaps, visiting dangerous animals and nappies.

Jason said: “If someone had told me ten years ago when I was telling jokes down at my local that I’d be doing arenas by the time I was 30, I’d have said they should give comedy a go! It’s a really exciting opportunity and I am going to give it my best shot.”

It is a long way from when he was a teenager collecting glasses in Manchester’s Buzz Club. He made his debut when one of the acts failed to turn up.

“I always liked storytellers like Jasper Carrott, Victoria Wood and Dave Allen,” he said.

“That’s who I see as my inspiration. I’m not political, I’m just having a laugh and a chuckle. No-one has ever left my gigs saying ‘he’s really made me think tonight’ but that’s not what I want them to do.”

“I don’t think anyone goes out for ‘a good think’ do they, they go out for a bit of a laugh.”

There will be plenty to laugh about in Manford’s new show, the only trouble is finding the time between being a dad and performing to write the material.

“I had ten years to write the show that became my first DVD. But I had to come up with a whole new show in less than a year! I’m constantly waiting to observe things.”

Jason Manford comes to the Royal Concert Hall and 7th and 8th October. Show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available now priced £20 and are available at the box office on 01555 989 5555 or by visiting www.trch.co.uk.
