My husband and I visited after Christmas. Staying at the Grand Central Hotel could not be more convenient as it has an entrance in the train station and our room was fantastic.

After enjoying a little afternoon shopping, the first stop on our night out was Champagne Central - the hotel’s champagne bar. Sipping our drinks overlooking the station was perfect for a spot of people watching.

For dinner we visited Gamba, a stunning seafood restaurant on West George Street. With fantastic food and service to match, it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

We woke to slightly grey weather, but that didn’t deter us. A bracing visit to the Necropolis offered some fantastic views, and we followed that with St Mungo’s Cathedral and the Gallery of Modern Art.

After lunch by a roaring log fire at Babbity Bowsters, we headed to the West End to Kelingrove Park and Museum. And as my husband is a fan of craft beer, our trip wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the Brewdog bar across the road.
