Members agreed to support both, one of which concerns avoiding food waste and the other appropriate care in hospital for patients with dementia.

There then followed a presentation by Alex Franklin, a senior lecturer in visual culture at the University of the West of England.

Alex, who is originally from Southrey, is conducting a research project into fashion for mature woman and whether this demographic is being catered for by high street shops.

Members completed questionnaires to help Alex with her research.

The next meeting will be in St Peter’s Hall on June 13, at 7.30pm, when Denise Taylor will give a talk on the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. New members and visitors are welcome.
