Worksop: Colliery band are back for more at The Crossing

Thoresby Colliery Band are returning to Worksop for a performance at The Crossing on Newcastle Street.

The performance coincided with the opening of their new band room in Hardwick Village, leased to them by the National Trust after they were forced to leave their former home.

Recent months have seen the Championship Section ensemble, led by professional conductor Brian Grant, achieve 4th place in the prestigious All England Masters International.

The band have also enjoyed presenting Karl Jenkins’ ‘The Armed Man’ with Lichfield Cathedral Chorus, with whom it hopes to take part in future musical projects.

A Band spokesperson said: “We really enjoy coming to The Crossing because it’s a superb concert venue and we are made to feel really welcome”.
