The Twines live in a quiet seaside village.

Gertrude Twine rents Rookery Nook for her sister and her new husband Gerald, whose cousin Clive is also invited.

Gerald’s wife is delayed, so he is alone at the holiday home when the attractive Rhoda Marley knocks on the door, seeking shelter from her overbearing German stepfather

Gerald is intrigued yet worried about the consequences should anyone find Rhoda in the house, especially the nosey housekeeper, Mrs Leverett.

And from there, things only get more fraught.

The play is on from next Thursday to Saturday, October 28-31.

Tickets are £8 on 01909 501817 or www,acorntheatre.net
