Annual celebration of Boston business success and creativity to return virtually

An annual event celebrating the achievements and creativity of Boston businesses is to return next month, despite the obstacles presented by the coronavirus pandemic.

Boston College will stage Made in Boston 2020 as a virtual conference on Friday, December 4, from 10-11.15am, under the heading ‘New Landscape, New Opportunities’.

MP for Boston and Skegness Matt Warman, who serves in the Government as a minister in The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, will launch the conference with his take on the new opportunities now open to businesses.

Following on from the guest speakers, there will be a short awards ceremony to highlight new ideas and innovations from the last 12 months.

Individuals are invited to nominate themselves or their business for one of the four awards. With sponsorship from Business Lincolnshire, Duncan & Toplis, Chattertons, Boston Borough Council and Boston College, the following awards will be presented during the event: The Made in Boston Award, The Boston Innovation Award, The Boston Maker – Skills Award and the Putting Boston on the Map Award.

A spokesman for Boston College said: “The Made in Boston event aims to highlight new ideas and innovations alongside those companies who have built long term success on the quality of their people, products and services.

“Join Boston College in setting a new agenda that rediscovers the resilience, ambition and spirit of adventure associated with our local businesses.”
