More than 100 customers, suppliers, and friends attended the open day, which was staged to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary and the completion of a £325,000 extension of its factory.

As well as tours of the new 12,500 sq ft factory and product demonstrations, visitors were treated to a hog roast and took part in several games, raising £250 for the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance.

“It was great to welcome so many of our customers and friends to Slate Worx and to be able to show them around,” said Derek Scott, managing director of Scotts Precision Manufacturing. “The open day was a great success and seemed to be the ideal time to announce our partnership with Yorkshire and Humber.

“We had a fantastic 2019 and a tremendous start to 2020. The banning of (the herbicide) diquat has driven people to consider alternative methods of chopping haulm. As a result, we’ve seen a significant increase in interest in our toppers. We’ve also sold more Evolutions than ever before.

“We want to ensure that as we continue to grow our high level of customer service and support continues. That’s why we decided to appoint Yorkshire and Humber. They really know their stuff, and we’re providing full training on our range so that they will be able to sell spare parts and also undertake servicing and maintenance on our behalf. We think it will be good news for our current customers and potential ones in North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.”

Yorkshire & Humber Ltd is an agricultural machinery dealership focused on root crop machinery and crop spraying technology.

As well as Scotts, the company is already a sales and service partner for Agrifac UK, ScanStone, Horstine and Chafer precision applicators.
