
The borough’s claimant count fell to 888 last month, down from 936.
This is according to figures released today (June 11) by the Office for National Statistics.

Twelve months ago the borough’s count was 360 higher.
Last month’s fall took the proportion of people claiming JSA aged from 16-64 to 2.2 per cent, down by 0.1 per cent.
This compares to regional and national averages of 2.5 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively, both of which fell by 0.1 per cent in the same time period.
