Chance to save on energy bills

Residents are once again being encouraged to sign up for a scheme that could save them hundreds of pounds on their energy bills.

The Lincolnshire Energy Switch initiative sees bill payers teaming up to secure the best deal from energy suppliers.

To register, visit www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/energyswitch – you will need a recent gas or electricity bill.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can register by calling the free phone number 0800 048 8439 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays).

The scheme is free for households to join and there is no obligation to take up the winning supplier’s tariff offer once made.

All can register, whether you rent your home or own it, whether you are on dual fuel, electric only, pay monthly or quarterly or have a prepayment meter.

The deadline for registration is Monday, May 16.

It is organised by Lincolnshire County Council, Lincoln City Council and South Kesteven, West Lindsey, East Lindsey and North Kesteven district councils.

Lead officer for the councils Karen Lond said: “We are encouraging as many people as possible to register with the Lincolnshire Energy Switch Scheme to secure the best possible gas and electricity rates for a community switch here in the county.

“The scheme has been successful with thousands of households switching to better energy deals.

“Look at new ways to help reduce your monthly outgoings, you’ve simply got nothing to lose by registering and seeing if you get an offer for cheaper gas and electricity compared with your current provider.”
