Chief executive leaves Magna Vitae Trust after ‘unprecedented challenge’ posed by Covid-19

Mark Humphreys has left his role as the CEO of the Magna Vitae Trust.

A statement published today (Wednesday), signed by the chairman of the Magna Vitae Board of Trustees, announced: “As part of the workforce redesign being undertaken as a result of the Covid pandemic, the Magna Vitae Board of Trustees has deliberated and given due consideration to the streamlining of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). “As the business now has a much thinner customer and income base, which is likely to continue to be the case for the foreseeable future, a way forward has now been agreed whereby we will reduce the (Senior Leadership Team) staff tier from three to two.

“During a time of unprecedented challenge, transition and change the Magna Vitae Board of Trustees are now in a position to confirm and announce that on November 10, Mark Humphreys - our present Chief Executive Officer - left the organisation.

“Mark will now move on to embark upon a new chapter. The MV Board would like to take this opportunity to wish him well as he moves on to pastures new, thanking him for all his hard work establishing the company’s firm foundation since its inception back in January 2015.

“Whilst accepting Mark’s departure, the MV Board shares full confidence in its remaining Senior Leadership Team.

“Two committed directors whom will look to continue to deliver on our company mission, vision and objectives.

“Continuing to work to be commercially effective and successful, working even harder to also meet our community social needs.

“Therefore, the MV Board announces the appointment of James Brindle, Director of Development and Partnerships, and Aeneas Richardson, Director of Operations, to jointly lead the organisation going forward.”

The statement concluded: “The last few months really have been an extremely difficult and challenging time for every single one of us in many different ways.

“We are truly sorry that it became necessary to make or accept the changes that have had to be implemented in respect of every aspect of the MV team.

“On this basis, we must all look to move forward and start to encourage people to lead great lives once more!”
