Co-op awarded for staff support
The company, which employs more than 3,200 people across the county, has been awarded ‘platinum status’ by accreditor, Investors in People (IIP).
Platinum status is held by only 200 employers nationwide - just two per cent of all IIP-accredited organisations.

Hide AdA rigorous assessment took place in the spring, including a survey with more than 2,100 staff and interviews with over 100 employees.
IIP assessors said: “You understand the return on investment in the time and resource allocated to your people.
“Your colleagues feel they can improve if they want to, and have opportunities for progression.”
Examples include an online learning portal; discounts and cash rewards for going ‘above and beyond’; and extra benefits during the coronavirus pandemic - including a double profit share bonus and a £25 award for every member of staff.
